Varsity vs Huntington North (2 - 8) Loss Peru Varsity Tigers couldn't keep up with Huntington North and fell 8-2 on Wednesday. Peru Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Musser grounded out, scoring one run. In the bottom of the first inning, Huntington North went back into the lead after Freiburger singled to center field, and Smock flew out, each scoring one run. Bowman earned the win for Huntington North. The starter allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Evans took the loss for Peru Varsity Tigers. The starter went three innings, surrendering four runs on five hits, striking out two and walking four. Braley went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Bellar and Hiles each collected two hits for Peru Varsity Tigers. Musser paced Peru Varsity Tigers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Huntington North collected 10 hits in the game. Pohler and Daugherty were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Huntington North. Daugherty, the number nine hitter for Huntington North, led the way with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Williams paced Huntington North with two walks.
