Varsity vs Northfield Jr-Sr High School (7 - 3) Win Peru Varsity Tigers Victorious Over Northfield Varsity Norseman By GameChanger Media Peru Varsity Tigers were triumphant over Northfield Varsity Norseman 7-3 on Wednesday. Northfield Varsity Norseman got on the board in the first inning after Kaylee Dennis singled, scoring one run. Grace Jacobs singled to center field, which helped Peru Varsity Tigers tie the game at one in the top of the fourth. Northfield Varsity Norseman took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Teagan Baer singled, scoring one run, to give Northfield Varsity Norseman the lead, 2-1. Peru Varsity Tigers took the lead in the top of the seventh. Kelsea Hampton singled, scoring two runs, to give Peru Varsity Tigers the lead, 3-2. Peru Varsity Tigers committed an error, which helped Northfield Varsity Norseman tie the game at three in the bottom of the seventh. Peru Varsity Tigers captured the lead, 7-3, in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run, Bailee Kintner singled, scoring one run, and Addy Marchand homered to right field, scoring two runs. Kyannah Correll pitched six innings in relief for Peru Varsity Tigers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs (one earned) while, striking out none and walking one. Kintner stepped in the circle first for Peru Varsity Tigers. The righty surrendered two hits and one run over two innings, striking out none and walking none.
