Peru Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Peru Varsity Tigers first got on the board when Musser singled, scoring one run. Peru Varsity Tigers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Braley lined out, and Musser flew out, each scoring one run. Northfield tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a single by Eviston, a single by Bucher, and a fielder's choice by Dubois. Northfield took the lead in the bottom of the third. Good singled, scoring two runs, to give Northfield the advantage, 6-4. Peru Varsity Tigers flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-6. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. Boswell earned the win for Peru Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered 11 hits and six runs (five earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Leming took the loss for Northfield. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, giving up nine runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking one. Rodriguez pitched two and two-thirds innings of zero-run ball for Peru Varsity Tigers in relief. The reliever gave up one hit, striking out one and walking one.
