Evans collected three hits in three at bats, as Peru Varsity Tigers defeated Southwood 11-1 on Friday. Evans singled in the fourth inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the third inning. Peru Varsity Tigers scored six runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. The starting pitcher went four innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out five and walking one. Whitney tossed one inning of shutout ball for Peru Varsity Tigers in relief. The left-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking one. Peru Varsity Tigers amassed 13 hits in the game. Musser, Evans, and Ulery each collected three hits for Peru Varsity Tigers. Boswell, Musser, Evans, and Musser each drove in two runs for Peru Varsity Tigers. Evans stole two bases.
