Peru Varsity Tigers lost to Wabash Varsity Apaches 11-6 on Wednesday. Peru Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Bailee Kintner singled, scoring one run. Karlee Bearman grounded out, which helped Wabash Varsity Apaches tie the game at one in the top of the second. Wabash Varsity Apaches flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Bearman on an 0-2 count that drove in three. Wabash Varsity Apaches scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored one run, McKinley Baker grounded out, scoring one run, Elli Hall singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Kyannah Correll led things off in the circle for Peru Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and eight runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking three. Kalli Davis stepped in the circle first for Wabash Varsity Apaches. The pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Lydea Campbell led Peru Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Lilly Steele set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Peru Varsity Tigers with three hits in four at bats. Correll collected two hits for Peru Varsity Tigers in four at bats. Bearman, the number seven hitter for Wabash Varsity Apaches, led the way with five runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
