⚾️Varsity Baseball Wins 14-13 Over Rochester Rodriguez drove in four runs on two hits to lead Peru Varsity Tigers past Rochester 14-13 on Monday. Rodriguez hit a home run to center field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring one. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Peru Varsity Tigers collected 13 hits and Rochester 10 in the high-scoring affair. Peru Varsity Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Evans singled, scoring one run, Boswell doubled, scoring two runs, and Rodriguez singled, scoring one run. Peru Varsity Tigers scored five runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. Evans drew a walk, scoring one run, Boswell singled, scoring one run, and Rodriguez homered to center field, scoring three runs. Paulik homered to left field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second for the Rochester. Peru Varsity Tigers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Musser grounded out, Evans singled to center field, and Ulery singled to left field, each scoring one run. Bellar hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fourth for the Peru Varsity Tigers. Dunfee hit a grand slam to left field in the bottom of the sixth for the Rochester. Coleman hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh for the Rochester. Boswell earned the win for Peru Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two. Casper took the loss for Rochester. The starter went one inning, allowing eight runs on six hits, striking out none and walking three. Whitney and Rodriguez each appeared in relief for Peru Varsity Tigers. Peru Varsity Tigers collected 13 hits in the game. Boswell went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Peru Varsity Tigers in hits. Bellar, Evans, and Braley each collected multiple hits for Peru Varsity Tigers. Rochester amassed 10 hits in the game. Dunfee drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rochester with eight runs batted in. The infielder went 4-for-4 on the day. Parks and Casper each stole multiple bases for Rochester.
