⚾️Varsity Baseball Wins 12-4 Over Maconaquah Bellar drove in four runs on three hits to lead Peru Varsity Tigers past Maconaquah 12-4 on Wednesday. Bellar hit a home run to right field in the second scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the seventh scoring one. Peru Varsity Tigers were the first to get on the board in the first when Bellar singled, scoring one run. Maconaquah captured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the first when Bowman singled, scoring one run, Richards singled, scoring one run, and Mitchell doubled, scoring two runs. Peru Varsity Tigers tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a home run to right field by Bellar, and a single by Evans. Peru Varsity Tigers jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Musser flew out, Maconaquah committed an error, and Boswell singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Peru Varsity Tigers scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to left field by Rodriguez. Boswell earned the win for Peru Varsity Tigers. The pitcher gave up 10 hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. Mitchell took the loss for Maconaquah. The hurler went five innings, surrendering eight runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out six and walking five. Peru Varsity Tigers collected 12 hits in the game. Musser, Evans, and Braley each collected multiple hits for Peru Varsity Tigers. Bellar paced Peru Varsity Tigers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Bellar and Musser each stole multiple bases for Peru Varsity Tigers. Peru Varsity Tigers stole six bases in the game. Peru Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game. Maconaquah amassed 10 hits in the game. Mitchell led Maconaquah with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup.
