🥎Varsity Softball Wins 4-2 Over Whitko Peru Varsity Tigers were triumphant over Whitko Varsity Wildcats 4-2 on Wednesday. Peru Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Bailee Kintner hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Peru Varsity Tigers added two runs in the second after Alix Bussard walked. Peru Varsity Tigers added one run in the third. Lydea Campbell grounded out, making the score 4-0. Kintner led things off in the circle for Peru Varsity Tigers. The hurler surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. Reagan Klepinger led things off in the circle for Whitko Varsity Wildcats. The starter surrendered two hits and three runs over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking three. Kelsea Hampton, Lilly Steele, and Grace Jacobs each collected one hit for Peru Varsity Tigers. Kintner and Campbell each drove in one run for Peru Varsity Tigers. Peru Varsity Tigers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Peru Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game. Meredith Hindbaugh led Whitko Varsity Wildcats with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Hindbaugh stole two bases.
