Game recap via GC: Despite a 5-run deficit in the first inning, Peru Varsity Tigers almost came all the way back, eventually falling 6-5 to Logansport on Thursday. Peru Varsity Tigers closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a single, a fly out, a ground out, and a fielder's choice. Peru Varsity Tigers was right in it until Logansport singled in the seventh inning. Logansport jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, Pearson singled, scoring one run, Chapman singled, scoring two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run. Musser grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Peru Varsity Tigers tie the game at five in the bottom of the sixth. Babbs stepped on the mound first for Peru Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and six runs (one earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two. Jones stepped on the mound first for Logansport. The starter gave up six hits and five runs over five and one-third innings, striking out one and walking seven. Musser drove the middle of the lineup, leading Peru Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Musser and Musser each collected two hits for Peru Varsity Tigers. Peru Varsity Tigers had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Hiles, Bellar, and Musser led the team with two free passes each.
